Oh the horror stories on web designers or developers, they seem to be in abundance, I hear them all the time. The reason for this is not always that designers or developers are bad people it’s just that most people don’t know what they are getting themselves into.

They don’t understand what’s “under the hood” of website design because let’s face it unless this is something you do for a living, learnt in school or just have a general knack for you’re not going to know this stuff, it boils down to mainly ignorance - lack of knowledge on the topic. Which is fine until it’s time to get a website built yourself.

The problem is most website providers from my experience are not taking the time to educate their prospective clients, helps to understand what to expect before and after the website design process. Often many service providers are doing this as a hustle for quick money.

So in this post I am going to share 5 Basic Things You Should Know about your website, even if you have one already.

Let's be real we ALL want more money in our bank accounts, whether we're in business or not we all want to see more income in our lives. The good news is that as a business owner making more money it totally do-able. Especially during the holiday season. Nothing makes people more free with parting with their money like the holiday season and holiday sales and getting more value for your buck.

So exactly how do you get in on the action?

As you may or may not be aware that I am a lover of systems, software and all around technology to help us run more time and cost efficient lives. If there’s an easier way to do something via an app, a software, a gadget, or a piece of technology on your computers or phones, I am all for it. I am always on the lookout for something that aids be to be a better human and focus on the things that matter.

Whatever that is for you, we should be using technology not to take over our lives but utilize them as aids in your lives to be better, do better and improve our lives and the world around us.

I also love to say tool and app lean, I do not believe the more the better because then we are just accumulating digital junk same way we have physical junk in our lives. I love to be intentional about what new app I download to my phone. So even better is I’m always on the lookout for tools that can do the work of 2 or 3 apps that I can possibly eliminate from the list.

It’s no secret that I am a huge fan and advocate of Squarespace. Like everyone else I tried Wix and I hated it, it just never looked professional and always had an amateur DIY finish. And let’s be real who is going to take you seriously and have over their money if it just doesn’t look professional and legit. No one. Then I tried Weebly and it was great there. I did opt-ins there closed clients and everything but then it came a time when it was time to level up to something more professional.
